Exercises for a Stronger Core

August 9th, 2021

The key to building muscle is consistency. An easy way to make sure you can fit a little strength building into your day regularly is to find an activity to pair your exercises with. For example- always doing a few strength moves after you walk each day, while you’re waiting for your coffee, before you brush your teeth each morning or each night, or whenever else works for you. Pick two of these exercises to fit into your day:

Straight arm plank

On your hands and your toes or knees, make sure your body is completely straight and your core is engaged. If you are on your knees make sure that your toes are on the ground as well and that you maintain a straight back

Standing front crunches

Engage your core, alternate bringing your knees up as high as you can while maintaining an engaged core

Standing side crunches

Engage your core, alternate bringing your knees up as high as you can to your side to meet your same side elbow

Belly Button Pull

While sitting or standing, practice bringing in your belly button to your spine, holding for 10 seconds and then releasing. Do this for 10-20 reps
