Knocking Out Hunger in St. Louis!

March 15th, 2017

The Fit and Food Connection is partnering with New Era Fitness to host Knocking Out Hunger – a five week boxing class series! All tickets sales go towards the Fit and Food Connection’s Food Assistance Program, which provides healthy foods to low income families who live in food deserts throughout Northern St. Louis City and County.

Fun Fitness – For a Cause!

Our first Knocking Out Hunger class was last Saturday, March 8th. And it was a great time for everyone! New Era Fitness owner, Bryce Mitchell, lead us through a fun and beginner-friendly boxing class. Our class participants had fun getting in their workout for the day!

Many of our class members were beginners, and the Knocking Out Hunger classes gave them the chance to try out this fun workout without a huge commitment that some gyms require. We even provide the boxing gloves – no equipment or experience required!

Serving Families in Need

The Fit and Food Connection’s Food Assistance program has been helping families in need in St. Louis food deserts since 2013.

Every week, fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy prepackaged meals are delivered by our volunteers to the homes of those who cannot afford nutritious options or do not have access to grocery stores. This program serves families of all sizes, the elderly, and the disabled.

All ticket sales from the Knocking Out Hunger classes directly benefit the families that the Fit and Food Connection serves through our Food Assistance Program.

See You At Our Next Class!

There are still four Knocking Out Hunger Classes left, and tickets are still available! Come join us for one (or all) of our next four classes! If you can’t make it to class, you can always make a donation to help us make lives healthier in St. Louis!

So far, the Knocking Out Hunger classes have raised $640 for our Food Assistance program, but we still need your help reaching our goal of $1,300 to KNOCK out HUNGER in St. Louis!
