This challenge may sound silly, but I can attest from personal experience that it will make a world of difference. Last Saturday I had a random urge at 6am to clean out our refrigerator. And I mean clean it out. I took out everything. I washed every drawer, every shelf, wiped down every bottle, and then evaluated each item before putting it back in. This might be dramatic, but I am completely sincere when I say that every day since doing this I have had such a mood boost by simply opening my fridge.
There is such a satisfaction that comes from opening your fridge and it being so clean and organized. This clean out also inspired me to try a few new meals out in order to use up some of our longer lingering ingredients. Fast forward to today, when I sat down to write these articles and it came to my attention that November 15 is randomly National Clean Out Your Fridge Day. When the universe brings something to your attention multiple times, then you know it’s something worth sharing.
So, your challenge this month is to clean out your fridge. Whatever that looks like for you. Could be a full overhaul or a simple reorganization. Clean out your fridge and use up some ingredients you forgot about (assuming they’re still good 🙂 ) and make yourself a nourishing meal. Or just sit and feel good about the fact that no matter what else is happening in your life, at least you have a really clean refrigerator. That’s more than a lot of people can say.
