Food Assistance and Delivery
Providing Healthy Meals to Those in Need
Our Food Assistance & Delivery has transformed the lives of nearly 120 Fit and Food Connection clients, as of 2018. It provides healthy food deliveries to those who deal with hunger in northern St. Louis City and County, including but not limited to low-income families with small children, senior citizens, and those disabled. Volunteers devote weekends to pick up food from partners and deliver nutritious groceries, along with food preparation tips and healthy recipes to families. Meals include a combination of fresh fruits, vegetables, precooked meals, and healthy non-perishables
If you qualify as low income and need assistance providing healthy food for you and your family, please contact our hotline at 314-649-7367 for more information regarding our weekly food delivery program.
This program relies on the support of our partners and volunteers. The Fit and Food Connection is currently partnering with Fit Flavors, MetroMarket STL, and Urban Harvest to feed those in need. We are always looking for new partnerships, suppliers, and donors to help us make this program a success.
We have put together a list of healthy food items, perishable and non-perishable, that we kindly ask for donations for, to ensure that we are distributing healthy food items to the families that benefit from this program. Please contact us for more information.
“I get little food stamps, and once my food stamps are gone, I have to try to buy some more [food], or try to go to pantries to get food. Well, you all do the delivery. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get back and forth to pantries because of how far it is, and location, and my transportation. I’ve been calling you all for two years.”
“Well, I think it’s very nice, and what you all give to me is enough for me, you know, to take care of me, and my needs, it’s nice. You all deliver it to me, I don’t have to try to get a ride [like I have to] to get to the other ones.”
